The fastest way to get a price corrected on this site is to send us a photo of your first bank statement, or the signup screen before you tap confirm. One screenshot beats ten emails.

Everything reaches the same inbox: hello@gymscost.com

A person reads all of it. We aim to reply within two business days, and we usually do, though a week in which four chains all change their rates at once can push that out.

If a price on our site is wrong

Tell us three things and we can act on it straight away: which page, which club location, and what you were actually charged. Franchise clubs set their own rates, so “the Planet Fitness near me is $24.99” is much harder to verify than “Planet Fitness on Flatbush Ave, Brooklyn, quoted me $24.99 on 2 September”.

When you’re right, we update the page and record the date it changed, following the process in how we research gym prices. You’ll get a reply either way, including when we look into it and find the old figure still holds at the clubs we can check.

If you want a gym added

Send the chain name and roughly where you are. We work through requests in the order they arrive, weighted by how many people ask for the same chain. Regional chains take longer than national ones because the pricing is scattered across individual club pages.

If you work for a gym

We’d rather publish your official numbers than an estimate, so send them. Corrections from a gym’s own team get checked against your public pricing page or membership agreement, same as anyone else’s, and we’ll note that the update came from you.

What we won’t do is remove accurate information because it makes a membership look expensive. If the annual fee is $49, the page will say $49.

Things we can’t help with

  • We can’t cancel your membership for you, or contact your gym on your behalf. Only you can do that, and the gym will only accept it from you.
  • We can’t give legal advice about a contract you’ve signed. If you’re in a billing dispute, your state consumer protection office is the right place to start.
  • We can’t tell you which gym to join. We can tell you what each one costs for a year, which is usually the part people are missing.
